i crossed the border here from moldova with my girl friend on our mototbikes from GIBRALTAR 24 years ago , all a bit interesting but hey , we were in and on our way to ODESSA , still have a photo at a road sign , odessa 69km ,,

Even though we were searched because of our country of origin (Czech republic), the border guards were friendly and we haven't felt uncomfortable or anything. Definitely unwise to cross unless you can get around in Ukrainian/Russian. After approximately 30 minutes we were through and on our way to Tiraspol. The waiting time might differ considerably though.

Ukrainian border guards were lovely and joked around a little. The guards on the other side were a bit more \macho\ and trying to intimidate. Not a busy crossing on Sunday afternoon, even for cars it was a quick process.
